Vado- Polo (prod. Omen)

I love this clanky, frinetic beat from Vado's Slime Flu mixtape. Kinda reminds me of Dom Kennedy's "Menace Beach", but this has more of a New York feel.

Maffew Ragazino- 1995 (feat. Jon Connor)

Make sure you stick around this song long enough to hear Jon Connor's explosive energy toward the end. This New York-Flint, Michigan collabo over an old Hi-Tek track perfectly matches Connor's Queensbridge double-time flow that he's employed to great success in his career. I love that Jon Connor is co-signed by Nas because he clearly comes from the same school of rap, but he adds a very compelling take on it...imagine Connor on Nas' recent single "Nasty" and you probably can figure out what I mean. Plus, I love seeing Ragazino rocking that Rutgers hat.

YC The Cynic- Fall FWD

This brief cut was the title track from YC The Cynic's mixtape a few months back, and it still resonates with me. YC (not to be confused with the "Racks On Racks" guy) is a very wordy, marble-mouthed spitter who becomes more and more compelling with further visitation. And the beat's got that post-Chuck Inglish sound I love to hear.

Green Ova Undergrounds- Swaggin Hard

Green Ova Undergrounds is a Main Attraktionz-helmed collective from the Bay Area. Produced almost entirely by rocker Julian Wass, their mixtape Chandelier plays like a Baths or Beach House sunkissed, indie pop record, aside of course, from the drug-oriented rappers' presence. It's an interesting listen, and I respected the shit out this select.

Lil B- I Seen That Light + Trapped In Prison

Lil B's recent effort I'm Gay (I'm Happy) captures the best of the Based God that I think will prove to be considered his first true masterpiece. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more compelling and creative lyrical style in today's structured rap environment. Lil B wisely kept the record an intimate, uplifting work filled with lush, soft production and, yes, real rhymes. For those unwilling dig out nuggets from his monolithic catalog, this album may serve as the only necessity. This track is what I imagine Lil B's upcoming record with Jay Electronica sounding like. Edit: I added the first song on the album as well cause its dope, with a little more edge.

Lil Wayne- Grove St. Party (feat. Lil B)

Weezy dropped a No Ceilings-esque mixtape today of him rapping over all the hottest beats called Sorry 4 The Wait. It has its high and its low points, but it peaks with an appearance from Lil B the Based God where he abandons all I'm Gay seriousness and puts his swag on 100,000 and fucks all our bitches. But I eat this shit up. Plus, you can't hate hearing people appreciating site-favorite Smoked Out Luger. Respect this select, and check out the mixtape.

Wu-Tang Clan- It's Yourz

With a new album dropping later this month, I decided to explore some older Wu-Tang and I dug up this gem.

Shyne- Messiah

Shyne is that guy with the absurdly deep voice from Puff's late 90's Bad Boy Records crew who shot up the club and got sentenced to ten years in prison. Well, now he's free and he dropped this track. Oh, and his dad is the prime minister of Belize. Oh, and he converted to Orthodox Judaism.

The Cool Kids- When Fish Ride Bicycles (Album)

Best album of 2011, fuck, this is THIER best effort since The Bake Sale (and I fucking love Tacklebox and Gone Fishing). I mean, it's solid from top to bottom as expected. The production is miles ahead of the competition and the two Neptunes' tracks are ingenious. It's now clear that Chuck and Michael have actually developed and improved as rappers significantly in the past few years. The guest features are perfectly selected (Bun B, Asher Roth, Chip Tha Ripper, Boldy James, Ghostface Killah, Pharrell, the list goes on...). It's a real summery album, except "Bundle Up" which came out this winter. It's just really good. The beats are just really really really good.

Pusha T- Trouble On My Mind (feat. Tyler, the Creator)

Well, here it is, the long-anticipated Odd Future/ Pusha T collabo, one of many new high profile guest spots the Wolf Gang boys have put together. I don't quite know what to expect from Frank Ocean on Watch The Throne or Nas' work with MellowHype but I assume it's gonna be some dope shit. We can expect to see this track on Pusha's Fear Of God 2: Let Us Pray.

Wu-Tang Clan- Meteor Hammer (Ghostface Killah) (feat. Action Bronson & Termanology)

The legendary Wu-Tang Clan is dropping another LP on July 26th. More of an amalgamation of solo Wu cuts with some dope features, Legendary Weapons could be surprisingly solid. We're four leaks deep and it sounds pretty damn good, here's the tracklist.
