Gucci Mane- Traphouse

I really need to stop listening to southern wild-out shit, but fuck it, it's the summer. Here's a Gucci cut from his debut street album of the same name.

Simple Philosphy - Life On Deck (prod. Evan)

SP Motherfucker

N.O.R.E.- Finito (feat. Pharrell & Lil Wayne)

Here's a super fat Neptunes-produced select. I never really listened to Noreaga's catalog but the features and production on this track caught my eye and I was happily rewarded for listening. The beat has the distinctive Carribbean-infused Neptunes sound that I've been addicted to since Clipse's Hell Hath No Fury.

OJ Da Juiceman- The Best Of Juice (Unofficial Mixtape)

The beats are addicting as fuck. The personality is godly. Make sure to spin "I'm Boomin I'm Bunkin", "Fresh Everyday", "Oh Fsho" and "Damn".

Tabi Bonney- Parachute (prod. Ski Beatz)

I love me some scuzz and Ski Beatz delivers just that on this new cut with DMV representative Tabi Bonney. The way Ski mixes this beat up commands attention from beginning to end and Tabi's stylistic groove-rap accompanies the arrangement perfectly. This track about juggling multiple bitches will be on Tabi's upcoming Summer Years project.

Lloyd Banks - Check Me Out (prod. Cardiak)

A FAT CUT

Dom Kennedy- New Jeeps (feat. Asher Roth & Sir Michael Rocks) (prod. Chuck Inglish)

FUCK YES! Three of my favorite rappers in the game link up and go in on an absolute fat cut from top producer Chuck Inglish. This kind of collab makes my panties so wet. All three spit real nice... this is on Dom's From The Westside With Love II, available now on iTunes.

Earl Sweatshirt- epaR (feat. Vince Staples)

Many of you may see me as a detractor of the Odd Future movement, a resentful reactionary. Well this is wrong, and I'm proving it to you by posting this Earl Sweatshirt track that had me bumpin last night. Edit: but cotdamn that boy is ass-ugly.

Curren$y- The Weed Planter (Unofficial Mixtape)

I fuckin respect the selects on Harris Amil & The QN's recent unofficial compilation of Spitta tracks. You can stream here, but if you download, be sure to pick up "#JetsGo" and "She Don't Want A Man" seperately, or on iTunes, as DatPiff excludes them from the downloaded version.

Asher Roth & Nottz- Summertime (feat. Quan)

Here's a new Asher Roth & Nottz track meant to keep it light and chill in the sum. And if you haven't already, don't forget to cop The Rawth EP.

The Cool Kids- Swimsuits (feat. Mayer Hawthorne)

Here's the second offering from The Cool Kids' debut album When Fish Ride Bicycles and yes, its goddamn good. Unfortunately the download hasn't surfaced on the net yet, but you can stream it at Pitchfork. Also, it will be available for purchase on iTunes tomorrow. Edit: here you, go.. the stream of all streams.

Freddie Gibbs- Cold Day In Hell (Preview Video)

Freddie Gibbs - Cold Day In Hell Trailer from LRG on Vimeo.

New Gangsta Gibbs tape dropping in July! It's bosting production from Alchemist, DJ Burn One, Big K.R.I.T. and Statik Selektah, along with guest appearances by Young Jeezy, Bun B, Juicy J and more..

Kendrick Lamar- Ronald Reagan Era (feat. RZA)

Okay, all BS aside, this kid is one of the (if not THE) hottest in the game right now. #Section80 dropping July 2nd.

The Game- Bottles And Rockin' J's (feat. Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Fabolous & Lil Wayne) (prod. Lex Luger) + I'm On (feat. Mars)

Here's a Smoked Out Luger banger that assembles some of rap's finest. This shit is tagged up like a mufucka by DJ Khaled (one of the best to ever do it). Busta Rhymes employs his dope double time flow, Ross is swaggerlicious Ross, Fabolous is fatty and Lil Wayne makes you eat his dick. I've also included a new track produced by 1500 Or Nothin' that I'm slowly falling in love with regardless of the short autotune chorus.

Yelawolf- Pop The Trunk (Video)

Yelawolf - Pop The Trunk from Motion Family on Vimeo.

Here's the video to my favorite Yelawolf track, "Pop The Trunk". The Alabama native is signed to Shady Records and is planning to drop his debut album, Radioactive, September 27th. Till then, just go download Trunk Muzik, his mixtape.

UGK- Grippin' On The Wood (feat. Big K.R.I.T.)

I think its kinda cool how the humble Big K.R.I.T. actually jumps on tracks with southern legends like UGK, Ludacris and David Banner, people he based his sound around and could've only dreamed of meeting (or making music) with a couple mixtapes ago. This track will appear on Pimp C's posthumous effort Still Pimpin'.

Nas- Nasty

New Nas track that revisits an oldschool funky sound with some extrrrr dope wordplay.

Kendrick Lamar- Michael Jordan (feat. Schoolboy Q) (Video)

Here's an organ rumbler from the Black Hippy crew reps. This sounds like a Gucci or Lil B beat but Kendrick and Schoolboy both absolutely murder with out-of-this-world, left field flows.

Kanye West- Mama's Boyfriend

Kanye getting on some childhood struggle ish over a typically Kanye sounding soul track. This is an interesting move away from the sonic range of MBDTF. EDIT: THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL VERSION. THIS IS THE OFFICIAL ACAPELLA WITH AN AMATEUR BEAT.

Pill- Stayin' Down

Here's a new track from Atlanta rapper Pill said to be on his upcoming Maybach Music release The Diagnosis, which isn't dropping until December 31st. Pill dips into some fatty wordplay toward the end.

Bambu- Paper Thin (feat. Chace Infinite) (Video)

Paper Thin - Bambu feat. Chace Infinite from LightWork Media on Vimeo.

Here's a fatty track from LA emcee Bambu who's known for his lyrics' criticisms of the system based on his experiences both on the block and in the army. The song features Chace Infinite of Self Scientific and is from Bambu's 2010 EP Paper Cuts.

Young Jeezy- Count It Up + Talk About It (Videos)

Young Jeezy dropped these two videos to help promote his new mixtape The Real Is Back. According to Jizzle's label, Thug Motivation: 103 will hit the shelves July 26th. "Nothin but dope and them hoes, nothin but dope and these bitches"

Money Making Jam Boys- Tear It Down (Video)

MMJB "Tear it Down" music video from Visually Inklined on Vimeo.

The Money Making Jam Boys are a collective set up by The Roots' emcee Black Thought. Black Thought, along with P.O.R.N., Dice Raw, STS, and Truck North dropped a mixtape called The Prestige, which you can cop at their website. Here's a video fro my favorite track from the tape.

Donny Goines- One By One (Tysha Jones)

Damn this shit is sad. Donny dedicates his new soulful track to Tysha Jones, a 16 year old friend who was shot down in crossfire in Brooklyn last night. This is hip-hop, respect the select.

Friday, June 10, 2011

Bing Cypher- Letting Go (feat. XV)

Oh shit, here's a pretty ill song from debut artist Bing Cypher featuring XV, and I must say, this beat goes. No one seems to know who Bing Cypher is, and sorry dude, your twitpic was too ugly to post man. Anyway check it out, even if you fastforward to hear Vizzy. Edit: actually, don't. on second listen, I think I'm feelin Bing's verse.

Nas- Blaze A 50

One of my favorite selects that you are indeed required to respect. This Nas banger is from his highly-praised Lost Tapes project. The talks about releasing a second volume of the series have unfortunately been squashed and the idea scrapped. It's a damn shame, Dad!

Pulled Over By The Cops- Authority (feat. Nate Santos) (prod. Blended Babies)

Pulled Over By The Cops is possibly the fattiest supergroup to form in hip-hop in a long, long time. Freddie Gibbs, Chip Tha Ripper, The Cool Kids and mentor Bun B have decided to get together to put out this Blended Babies' produced track. We can only hope they'll drop a full-length project in the future.

Freddie Gibbs- Keep It Pimpin

Here's some classic Gangsta Gibbs to soothe your player ass to sleep.

Thursday, June 9, 2011

Gucci Mane- The Movie (prod. Jazze Pha)

Here's a rewind to last summer's goofy, Jazze Pha produced track from Gucci Mane La Flare. I've been spinning this record again recently and the keys always get me. "Girl, I can't remember nothin' but my last blunt."

Kendrick Lamar- Sex With Society (prod. THC)

Kendrick keeps that pussy wet with this lyrical monster said to be on his upcoming #Section80 mixtape. This is the same producer from Schoolboy Q's jam "Options".

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Tity Boi- Too Easy (feat. Cap1) (prod. Lex Luger)

Tity Boi: yes, it's an outrageous name..and no, he's not the most lyrically deft spitter... but 2 Chainz hits all the right southern sweet-spots especially over really good production, which is exactly what he gets on his most recent mixtape Codeine Cowboy (A 2 Chainz Collective). This one finds Lex Luger in semi-new territory, a beat absent of his famous build-up drops that has the young producer finding a really good sample and just bumping it until the end. Anyway, if you like listen to the whole tape, it's a surprisingly satisfying listen. Edit: I've embedded a link for the mixtape stream because I don't know if the hulkshare link is woiking.

Young Jeezy- Handle My Bizness

Since that new tape, I've been going back into Jizzle's catalog and he's got a lot of solid releases. 2010's The Last Laugh is filled with tough gravelly tracks and is definitely a highlight. The mixtape features production from Shawty Redd (currently serving a murder bid) who is best known for ominous orhcestral and organ themed production that paved the way for game changer Lex Luger. Check out "Handle My Bizness. and if you like it grap the download link for The Last Laugh.

Kid Cudi- Perfect Is The Word (prod. Dot Da Genius)

Speaking of psych-influenced stuff, rocker Kid Cudi drops his new collab with "Day N Nite" producer Dot Da Genius that finds the wizard heading in a new musical direction for 2011. Cudi keeps scuzzy distortion over his voice giving a lo-fi 60's underground feel. I think the Cudi heads'll really dig this track, but not too many others.

Curren$y- She Don't Want A Man

This is a leak from Spitta's upcoming tape Weekend At Burnie's providing his new project with a continuance of his chilled out psych-influenced style.
